When Liz, one of my best buddies from photography school and one of the best photographers I know, asked me to come along with her to shoot a wedding on the 4th of July, I couldn’t say no!
Meet Chandni, who is GORGEOUS!

Here are some of my favorites that were taken while Chandni was getting ready.

I think this next photo is my absolute favorite from the day – the color!!! The color during the entire day was just amazing.

One of the best things about being a second shooter is that you can experiment. I bought an inexpensive 50 mm lens over six months ago but hadn’t used it because I never gave myself time to get used to it. I decided that Chandni and Urfan’s wedding would be a great time to test it out! I love the depth of field (or lack thereof) in the next shot – 50 mm lens, I think I love you!

This next shot was taken as Urfan’s guests were making their way into the ceremony.

This is Urfan right before the ceremony is about to begin!

Anxiously awaiting the ceremony.

Chandni and her sisters walking into the ceremony.

The ceremony.

Checking out the rings.

Next you’ll find some of my favorite photographs of the guests, starting with this photo which features an imaginary camera – awesome!

Sorry… I got distracted by all of the beautiful colors and fabulous things going on at the wedding! Now back to Chandni and Urfan!

They are adorable.

Thanks Chandni and Urfan (and Liz!) for letting me part of this special day!

Late last Tuesday night, I got an email from Jessie’s mother asking if there was any way I could take Jessie’s headshots on Wednesday because… drum roll… Jessie was going to send her photo in to audition for the next Twilight movie! Luckily I was free (although, if I wasn’t free, I’d probably have dropped everything because how exciting is the possibility of Jessie’s being involved with Twilight?), and we got together to make some photos.
This next one is very Twilight-y and is the photo we all agreed was best to send in for the audition.

Jessie is a natural. She was amazing! We tried a few different looks because Twlight-y may not be the best look for every audition (such as auditions for High School Musical, which Jessie is also pursuing).

The next shot is my personal favorite (and Jessie’s too!).

Everyone wish Jessie the best of luck with sending in her headshot! Because then she can get her dear old photographer Robert Pattinson’s autograph and make her the happiest person ever. Although, if I can allow myself to get carried away for a minute, maybe what will happen is that Jessie will meet him and he will be so WOWED by her promo shots that he will INSIST that he meet with her photographer to have his photo taken. And then he will come to the studio and I will totally freak out… Everyone wish Jessie TONS of luck.

It’s been one whole month of toys. I could probably go on for another month, but all good things must come to an end and it’s time for this project to move on. I don’t know where it’s going… a book? A show? Comic conventions? I want to take the project somewhere but I’m not sure what format it should take. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know!
And now… for the grand finale… A Band of Bad Guys! Skeletor, Hordac, Beast Man and Mer-man. Awesome.

Thanks for checking out the toys, and I hope you enjoyed them!

Jackie and Dipal are getting married in August and I am so so so excited to shoot their wedding! You might be asking yourself “She always gets excited about shooting weddings… why is she so so so excited about this one?” Well, since you asked, I am so so so excited because they are having two ceremonies in one day – an Indian ceremony in the morning, and an American ceremony in the early evening! It’s going to be awesome!

We met in Boston for their shoot last week. Jackie and Dipal currently live in Utah and were in MA to visit but also to tend to wedding details. We decided to meet in Boston because, as Jackie said, the city backdrop is a nice contrast to their current mountain lifestyle.

I have to mention how lucky we were – Boston is currently and has been experiencing rain, dreariness, rain, all-around gross weather and also more rain. On the day of our shoot, however, we had BLUE SKIES.

I love the moment in the next photo.

Watch out! CODZILLA!

We walked all around the waterfront and The North End.

We also stopped for a bite to eat at The Barking Crab.

We ended up in The North End where Jackie and Dipal got to enjoy the sun at a fabulous seat outside!

We had a fun time playing outside on a beautiful Boston afternoon, and I really can’t wait for the wedding. Stay tuned!

This isn’t a toy from the 80s, because its from Batman: The Animated Series, which I watched in high school. Two Face is, however, a really important toy to me because he was sitting on my desk at my last desk job and reminded me that there are things to love in the world. Like awesome cartoons. This is also the first toy I photographed and I think I have to go back and do it again, but figured I’d put it up anyway!

It could not be an 80’s toy retrospective without Barbie. There are many more Barbie portraits where these two came from, but these two are my favorites. This is an early-80’s ballerina Barbie and I loved her so so much.
