Christen and Tuck – Engaged!

October 19, 2009

Christen and Tuck are getting married this year on Halloween!  They decided that they wanted to incorporate both Halloween and silliness into their engagement session, and this is what we came up with!

This is Christen and Tuck dressed up as people who are going to the prom.

I love the big glasses!

Nell and Chidozie – Engaged!

July 30, 2009

I met up with Nell and Chidozie in NYC this past weekend during my trip down to Princeton and Philly to visit with family.  Nell suggested meeting up in Bryant Park, which was an excellent idea.

Oh, how I miss NYC.   We spent over an hour taking photos on one square block!

I love the seriousness in the next photo.

I have special fondness for this photo because it was taken near the ATM I used to use when I was taking a class at ICP a few years ago (sidenote: there is a Richard Avedon show up at ICP that must be amazing; sadly I did not have time to see it while I was in NYC).

The colors that Nell and Chidozie chose to wear really shine in the next photo.

Another very serious pose – Nell and Chidozie are great models.

This next photo is my favorite shot from the entire day.

At the end of our session, we decided to go for a ride on the carousel.  Exciting!

Except that apparently one is not allowed to stand on the carousel taking photos unless one is also protecting a child that one is taking photos of.  So I got kicked off – hmph.

If I hadn’t gotten off, however, I wouldn’t have been table to take this next photo!

Thanks Nell and Chidozie!  It was great to meet and spend some time with you in my beloved NYC!

Photo Guest Book!

July 19, 2009

I am so very excited about a new product I’m offering to all of my brides and grooms.  It’s a fabulous photo guest book!

I got my first guest book sample in this week from Finao, an awesome modern album company that I use for most of my album needs.

The guest book is basically a flush-mount album with photos from your engagement session on one side, and blank pages on the opposite side for all of your guests to sign on the wedding day.

There are all sorts of choices you can make for your guest book.  They come with white or black pages and come in a variety of sizes and capacities.  There is no shortage of cool cover options, from faux suedes to modern eclectic patterns.   One of the reasons I love Finao is because of all of their brightly colored cover options!  This sample is a 6×9 inch horizontal book with white pages and a silk brocade cover (called Mimosa!  awesome!).

The photo guest book is a great keepsake from your wedding day and a unique way to showcase images from your engagement session.

Jackie and Dipal – Engaged!

June 29, 2009

Jackie and Dipal are getting married in August and I am so so so excited to shoot their wedding!  You might be asking yourself “She always gets excited about shooting weddings… why is she so so so excited about this one?”  Well, since you asked, I am so so so excited because they are having two ceremonies in one day – an Indian ceremony in the morning, and an American ceremony in the early evening!  It’s going to be awesome!

We met in Boston for their shoot last week.  Jackie and Dipal currently live in Utah and were in MA to visit but also to tend to wedding details.   We decided to meet in Boston because, as Jackie said, the city backdrop is a nice contrast to their current mountain lifestyle.

I have to mention how lucky we were – Boston is currently and has been experiencing rain, dreariness, rain, all-around gross weather and also more rain.  On the day of our shoot, however, we had BLUE SKIES.

I love the moment in the next photo.

Watch out!  CODZILLA!

We walked all around the waterfront and The North End.

We also stopped for a bite to eat at The Barking Crab.

We ended up in The North End where Jackie and Dipal got to enjoy the sun at a fabulous seat outside!

We had a fun time playing outside on a beautiful Boston afternoon, and I really can’t wait for the wedding.  Stay tuned!

Jax and Andy – Engagement Video!

June 19, 2009

I had a little free time yesterday, and decided to make a fun little video from Jax and Andy’s engagement session. I haven’t worked with Multimedia in quite some time, and I now remember why I love it. Enjoy!

Jax and Andy – Engaged!

June 16, 2009

It was an absolute joy this weekend to take Jax and Andy’s engagement photos in Boston.  They met at Emerson, so they thought it would be really fun to take some photos in and around the buildings there – and they were right!

I had never been in this building before – it was AMAZING because there were film lights set up.  So cool.

This was taken in the lobby of another building.

This next set was taken outside the building that they met in!   I need to mention how much I love Jax and Andy’s outfits – it is no secret that I love color, so I was thrilled when I saw what they had chosen to wear.  Their clothes totally reminded me of rainbow sherbet and summer!

I think this next one is so cute.

When we were done playing near Emerson, we headed over to the Commons and took more photos.  We got really lucky – it had been cloudy all day, with a forecast of rain, but just as we were about to start shooting, the sun came out.

Thanks Jax and Andy!  I hope you guys had as much fun as I did!   Good luck with all of your wedding planning!
